I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks for all the support I’ve received on the site over the last 12 months, the emails and comments I’ve had have been awesome thanks to you guys. I hope everyone has a great and safe holiday and new year and all the best for 2013!
I hope to do more on the site and expand in the new year so remember to subscribe, rate, comment my content it really helps and makes it all worth it in the end. Here are a few of my favourite posts over the last year:
Enjoy the holidays all!
I went down to my local thrift store (Salvation Army) today and picked up a couple of nice additions to my Playstation 2 collection, as well as a really nice find way hidden in the back.
A special edition box set Star Wars trilogy release from 1997! This box set contains digitally remastered versions of the original star wars films and was released in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the first film. While I don’t watch VHS tapes anymore (DVD and blu-ray) having this in the collection is really nice. For a pick-up of only $1 I couldn’t say no. I was casually looking through some of their VHS tapes and noticed this gold box with a black lucasfilm logo on it…as soon as I saw the logo I knew it would be something worth checking out and sure enough, a star wars box set.
This box set is 15 years old today, and very collectible so quite nice to have.
I’ve been on a bit of a break from blogging over the past month or so, really needed to focus on work and other areas of my life but now that I’ve been away from writing for quite a while I’ pretty eager to get back on here sharing some cool stuff with technology, gaming and just simply stuff that nerds love doing.
Sit tight, I’m back in the saddle and more to come in the next few days with a view for new content every day!
Ah yes what would life be without a good snack or two? Well, I am in snack heaven at the moment after a trip to USA Foods in Moorabin (Melbourne, Victoria). Picked up a few of my favourites as well as a few new ones to check out.
In order from left to right:
- Lucky Charms breakfast cereal (who doesn’t love marshmallow surprises in your cereal!)
- 2x Pixi Sticks
- 2x PayDay’s
- 3x Baby Ruth bars
- 2x Watchaamacallit’s
- 2x Butterfingers
- BBQ Pringles
- Welch’s sparkling grape soda
- 3x Hershey’s Mr. Goodbar
- Hershey’s Hot Fudge Sunday Sauce
- 1x can Mountain Dew Voltage (crazy energy drink)
- 2x Cherry Coca-Cola cans
Ah Heaven!…better take it easy on this stuff.
The best donuts in Melbourne in my opinion always came from the Olympic donuts van at Footscray station. Olympic Donuts: 51 Irving Street, Footscray, 9689 4819
It takes a hard heart to say no to a donut. Whether they’re in traditional ring form or something a little more exotic, there’s something about those clumps of simple, sweetened dough that we never really grow out of.

On the 24th of July, 2010 thousands of people around the world uploaded videos of their lives to YouTube to take part in Life in a Day, a historic cinematic experiment to create a documentary film about a single day on earth.
This is absolutely amazing, I can’t wait to check this out in a few days. Click the picture above to go straight to the life in a day YouTube site where you will be able to watch the world premier live from the Sundance film festival. You can also check out video clips from people who’ve submitted their footage to be used for the documentary and even some that didn’t make the cut. All of it though will contribute to something that will really make history!
There are so many different types of people all over the world and you’d think there are so many different ways to live one’s live but this documentary will show how common human beings are to one another, and how problems with racial divide and social unrest in our world today really shouldn’t really be as big of a problem as they really are. Maybe an experiment like this will bring more people closer to one another, and maybe will be the start of change in our world.
Ok so everybody has a favourite colour and everybody has a favourite food, but what about your favourite sound? I like the sound of the rain hitting a metal roof, I like the sound of Dream Theater! lol. I like the sound of babies playing together, I like the sound my girlfriend makes when she’s sleeping 🙂
Oh, I like the sound of the silence you get when you’re standing in the middle of a forest with nobody else around you.
Leave your favourite sound in the comments below!
I can’t believe how much rain Queensland has been getting this past few weeks and now they are battling against the worst flood the state has seen since the 70s! All my friends up in Brisbane, take care guys. Be safe and help out others in need.
Please try to donate to the Queensland flood relief, they really need our help and I know they’d do the same for us if we ever needed it (and living in Victoria with the strange weather we get I wouldn’t put it past anybody!).
If I were a religious man I’d say my prayers are with you, but I’m not…so my thoughts go out to you and everyone having a tough time in QLD.
So I live in Melbourne Australia for anyone who doesn’t know, and for anyone who doesn’t know Melbourne has the strangest weather in the world! Today it reached 35 degrees C then by 2pm it started raining. By 6pm it was like 15C…WEIRD! You just have to do a Google search for “strange weather” and most links you find are all about strange weather in Australia, its not just me who things so 🙂
Anyway, some more (and better) posts to come tomorrow, Thought I had better get something out and quick as I totally missed yesterday’s post. So much for the ‘postaday’ challenge. I went 5 whole days without a gap, then bam yesterday completely forgot. I’ve been quite busy lately I guess what hey, here’s one and tomorrow there will be another!
2010 was not a good year for my blog. I had only written a handful of posts and nothing really meaningful was written so why would anyone bother to visit it? I couldn’t blame anyone but myself. I had simply lost interest in writing on my blog when there were so many other things that had snapped up my attention (like life!). Work has been busy, but work is always busy so no difference there. This year though, this year is the year I take things to the next level and rejuvenate my blog (again).
My new years resolution for 2011 is to try and find that spark again, the spark I felt when I first started writing on my blog way back in 2002. If you’ve ever visited this site before, you’ll notice I’ve put some work into a layout change and I hope to continue to keep adding new content every few days, just with stuff I find interesting and stuff that “gets me going” lol.
I can’t believe it has been around for 9 years now this blog has been around for. At its peak I had over 20,000 visitors a week, these days its no more than a few hundred. That’s fine though, that’s not what this is going to be all about. This will be (at least at first) about me finding what I used to love about doing this all over again, and if there are people out there that find the things I find interesting then that’s great. If not, then that’s fine too.
Funny things I find online will show up on here as well as cool stuff on my mind. If its worth sharing on my Facebook page, then its worth posting on here. I’ll probably talk a lot about technology and basketball but I’m sure other things will show up from time to time.
I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in 2011. Happy new year to all!
