Firefox 2.0 launch parties

With the impending release of the highly anticipated Firefox v2.0 web browser, Mozilla have gone all out on party planning. Its going to be huge, and in only 15 days time!

Mozilla (the company behind the popular firefox browser) are planning to throw as many parties as possible right across the globe and the site Firefox Party is keeping track of all the progress.

“All over the world, we’re celebrating the launch of Firefox 2. Join the fun by hosting or attending a party. We’re targeting the weekend of October 27th for the shared celebration, but if you’re hosting, you make the call.” – firefoxparty.com

As you can see, there are ALOT of parties happening all over the world, mainly in North America, but most continents across the world are hosting at least 1 party which will be great. I live in Melbourne Australia so I guess I could fly up to Sydney to check out the Firefox party up there, we’ll just have to see what happens. It would be really cool to go though, take lots of photos and share them with you guys here on my blog. That would be cool!

  1. This is an interesting piece of news 🙂 I am a big fan of FF..i think its the coolest browser out there. I hope there is a party near my city! That will be fun (to watch on the internet???!) keep your posts coming 🙂

  2. I should totally do the same. As I said in my post, there’s one in Sydney I could attend which would be cool. Just see what happens i guess. Would be cool to write a follow up to this after all the events have passed perhaps, see if we can get some video footage of a few of the events if we can.

  3. Okay I am about to make a fool of myself. Having just said I hate Firefox, I just found that actually, FF2 is not as bad as I thought and is much of an improvement over old versions.

  4. lol yeah i know. FF2 is definately a huge improvement over the older versions, but I’ve always liked Firefox ever since v0.8. I do like the Opera Browser too Becs, it is a pretty good browser also.

  5. FF2 is definitely better than the older versions. I was shocked to see how fast it was the first time I used it. BTW, has anyone used it with Vista? I’d love to see how it compares to IE7 in Vista.

  6. I am yet to use FF2 in Vista, but I’m definately with you FF2 is far superior to previous versions of firefox. Apparently IE7 is really stable and reliable in Vista so a comparrison of the two browsers would be interesting to see. Check back here in the next few days, maybe I’ll do a write up about it!
